Big Living, Small Space

Working with small spaces can be challenging but it can also deliver bonuses and endless choices.
Read on to get tips on making a small house appear bigger!

Work with what you have:
Is there one larger open area or are all the rooms small? Is there built-in storage? If not, can your budget accommodate custom built-ins?

Embrace the light:
White paint and fabrics, bare windows, and shiny surfaces spread sunshine around, as does glass furniture and mirrors.

Create a neutral palette:
You may be tempted to add lots of color to your space but keeping it simple with a neautral palette can go a long way. Fabrics range from natural linen to pure white cotton. Colors; off-white, white, cream, and khaki blend together. Accessories in clear glass and white china support the palette.

+If you're not a big fan of the whole neutral palette you can do a monochromatic scheme, meaning a single base hue and extended using its shades, tones and tints.

Accessorize in moderation:
Don’t go overboard with accessories instead opt for ones that are clear or in tune with the color palette. Add only a few pieces in a contrasting hue.
